Do Wind Deflectors work?

I am often met with the question “What does a wind deflector do?”

It reduces the turbulence caused by the air flowing over the windscreen & curling back into the cabin.

It’s full effect can only be noticed when the side windows are up. Take any saloon car & drive it at 70mph with the side windows down & you will feel and hear buffeting. This is also the case in a roadster (2 seater convertible)

However with a wind deflector installed & the side windows up the car become essentially a saloon car , side windows up & wind deflector installed , with a big sunroof.

The effect is very noticeable for those with long hair.

A wind deflector makes for a quieter, warmer & altogether a more comfortable driving experience.

The video above was sent to me by a merc-slk-r171-wind-deflector customer. If the Wind Deflector wasn’t there her hair would be blowing around this lady’s face!

A wind deflector works the same way in any roadster.
